We are in difficult times post-pandemic and the soaring cost of living.

Post lockdown, we at Raedan-institute in Leicester want to support our communities here. We are indeed in testing times and as a community need to come together with all our brothers and sisters.

We will be delivering essential hygiene packs, which will include toiletries, sanitisers, masks, bacterial wipes etc. We suggest a donation pack which will cost around £25.00 this will provide essentials in these trying times. You are of course able to donate whatever you can.
NHS Advice ***If you need medical help for any reason, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Update June 2022: We have also received funding and delivering food packs and educational packs as we speak. (See pics below)

Post Ramadhan we are continuing with our work. We hope that we are able to continue with our work. With your support, you can donate all your Sadaqah, Lillah & Zakat.

Your donations have had a massive impact on the lives of many people. We have delivered over 5500+ food packs (6 weeks worth and 2 full bags), and over 500 educational packs and provided debt relief to over 60 families locally and 200+ internationally.

Dear Sir

Unexpectedly I was given one of your food boxes with the delivery of my medications. I cannot tell you how overwhelmed and emotional I was to receive the food.

I am a 74 year old widow. I have been in voluntary lockdown since the beginning of March, only going out 4 times to the post box. This decision was made as I have Type 2 diabetes, asthma, acute diverticulitis plus I had major surgery before Christmas for womb cancer.

It is difficult not being able to see friends and my son lives in Hampshire and my daughter near Burton on Trent. The last time I saw them was over the Christmas period so I am very much looking forward to seeing them sometime. I have 7 grandchildren between the ages of 4 and 25.

To receive your box meant the World to me. Somebody was thinking of me and trying to reach out to me. I cannot thank you enough. It has been hard trying to do everything on my own but I have managed somehow amongst various mini disasters – 2 long power cuts, plus needing a new washing machine, toaster and bathroom scales as my previous ones died on me.

I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Raedan Institute will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Raedan Institute receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
